Alert Center 24 hour summary graphs

On the alerting center dashboard, the “Last 24 hours summary” charts don’t seem to do what’s intended.

The query | 'alerting_filesystem_usage' | search frameID="*" host="*" | timechart useother=t limit=40 count by host seems to be doing a timechart on a list of current alerts which doesn’t make sense to me.
