Accept "vague" start dates

Issue #3 new
Jim Tittsler created an issue

The course listings allow text field entries for the start date, but does nothing to enforce or encourage consistency. That means dates like "2nd quarter 2015" and "2015 second quarter" are entered. In addition to being inconsistent, that means they do not sort chronologically in the display of future courses.

It would be good to add a consistent format (supporting quarters? half years? months?).

I agree that we need a consistent format (eg pull down for quarters or half years options). I think that quarters are the most flexible solution short enough period to apply subtle "pressure" for getting work done but not too short for generating maintenance issues. So for example, months may be too short and generate more maintenance issues in reminding folk to keep their pages updated.
