The motarboard and tassel does not seem to be the correct icon for non-credit courses. There should be a certificate or similar icon.

The logic for credit/badge has been swapped since the site was established.

Yes, a certificate if there are certification options: eg open badge, certificate for participation, or certificate of learning (which involves some form of assessment but not necessarily formal academic credit.)
