Convert Bi-lingual RTF into TMX Level 2 (1.4b)
Original [issue 278](https://code.google.com/p/okapi/issues/detail?id=278) created by nrawal.... on 2012-10-01T18:14:59.000Z:
Does Tikal support Bilingual RTF to TMX conversion. I tried the tikal from the Okapi 0.17 snapshot and that does not seem to work.
Can you please let me know if this function is available and how can I run tikal to make it work.
(I have been successful in converting TTXs to TMX).

Yes, I agree, Rainbow does do the necessary conversion. I like the command line feature of tikal but that does not work. Is there anyway tikal rtf conversion be fixed.

It's in the issue list now. It is also probably not a complicated fix, so it has good chances to get done relatively quickly.

The definition for the RTF filter was not in Tikal. This has been fixed. tikal -2tmx myFile.rtf should get you myFile.rtf.tmx with the bilingual entries. (assuming the RTF file is a Trados bilingual file)
The fix will be in the next snapshot in about 45mn (http://okapi.opentag.com/snapshots/)
Note that we are currently changing/testing many changes in the snapshots, so some parts may not be tested very well. but i think the that command has not been affected by changes.

Rainbow can definitely do this. (Format Conversion Step, or even the pre-defined pipeline "Format Conversion")
The -2tmx option of Tikal should be able. But for some reason the .rtf extension is not recognized. Even when specifying -fc okf\_tradosrtf we get the error. This is probably a bug.
