MadCap XLIFF files do not work well with the XLIFF Filter
Issue #638
new
It seems the XLIFF files created with MadCap have problem when they are merged back.
This may be related to the content of <seg-source>
not matching <source>
in some cases (and causing the file to be written back without <seg-source>
.
TODO: get some public example files.

I've been in touch with someone at MadCap and have obtained some samples. I'm double-checking that they're clear for inclusion here.

We can get a 30-day trial of MadCap Lingo from here: https://www.madcapsoftware.com/free-trials/?p=PLI#select
This may be the easiest way to get some public files. I had a back-and-forth with a support rep who sent me some sample files, but they didn't seem to demonstrate the issue (as best as I could tell).

It seems that setting the XLIFF Filter option "always use the segmentation of the seg-source, even when there are differences between sources" does the trick and allow the merge back. So that is a work-around.
We just have to find out why we detect differences now.
