Access sources through HTTP proxy
=================================

MapProxy can use an HTTP proxy to make requests to your sources, if your system does not allow direct access to the source. You need to set the ``http_proxy`` environment variable to the proxy URL.

On Linux/Unix::

  $ export http_proxy="http://example.com:3128"
  $ mapproxy-util serve-develop mapproxy.yaml

On Windows::

  c:\> set http_proxy="http://example.com:3128"
  c:\> mapproxy-util serve-develop mapproxy.yaml

You can also set this in your :ref:`server script <server_script>`::

  import os
  os.environ["http_proxy"] = "http://example.com:3128"

Add a username and password to the URL if your HTTP proxy requires authentication. For example ``http://username:password@example.com:3128``.
