Backups

The current backups are too long to be piped into a remote sql location, maybe gzip, scp over and on the other end import

Currently, backups take up less resources. They are being gziped, but only after they are transfered over the network. gzipping before sending would be the better option.

Indeed, currently the gziped sql file is been backed up every day into your ~/tmp

EDIT: and I pull them to my local HDD
