refreshing the entire credential vs only the signature

in mdocs for example there might be a requirement to refresh the signature only every 2 months.
is there a need for a mechanism for the wallet to request refresh of only the signature or both data and signature in credential req and issuers telling the wallet what it is returning in the credential response?
