45 days period for review has started following publication of the second imnplementers draft Second Public Review Period for OpenID Connect for Identity Assurance Specification Started | OpenID

External orgs/events

European Commission

  • Etsi is starting a special task force and Stéphane has been selected to take part
  • Called "Special Task Force 588 Identity proofing for Trust Service Subjects"
  • We have ticket #1167 for managing this
  • Purpose of project is to re-assess the identity proofing requirements
  • Funded by EC
  • First meeting took place today
  • Expected to run into next year
  • Output will be a technical report and standards
  • OpenID Connect was mentioned at the first meeting
  • Otherwise EC activity is quiet and we have not heard much

TISA - no update

Swift

  • Torsten has been attending a call regarding cooperation between Swift, OpenID and Banco Santander
  • Alberto found it very positive
  • Santander is trying to move the specifications forward
  • JP Morgan and Citi are also participating

Update on new topics

#1097 Support Legal Entities

  • There is a first document with use case descriptions OpenID Connect 4 Identity Assurance - Use Cases for Legal Entities - Google Docs
  • It is split in to two use cases
  • Can anyone review and either comment on the cases written there and come up with some other use cases
  • Angus suggested focussing on real pain points
  • Alberto has shared the document with Rod - head of identity at Banco Santander with the expectation that there will be some feedback

#1186 - expression language

  • Alberto and colleagues have managed to work on the format of specifications
  • It will take a little time to get the agreements to share that work with the WG formally
  • A working version has been shared for initial review - Claim Assertions
  • everyone who can - please have a look and provide comments

#1187 - Requesting different trust frameworks for different claims

  • There was a discussion about how different trust frameworks could be included in a eKYC format request
  • This has been tried using an array for that
  • This is shown in an example structure in the ticket
  • Stéphane raised a concern about implied legal liability in the wording . Stéphane will raise a new ticket and Torsten will ask Don Thibeau to review with his legal background.
