Currently, 2.4 bullet 5. just states "checks its signature" without qualifying explicitly what this check needs to be. Although it is quite clear from the context, it is always better to be explicit

Proposal

Replace “and checks its signature.” with

and MUST check the signature of the JWT according to RFC7515.
