FAPI 2.0 Title Change - Add Part 1, Part 2, etc...

Issue #639 resolved
Nat Sakimura created an issue

It is not essential, but having them as a suite with multi-parts might make it easier for readers to grasp the breadth of the documentation.

If so, the document will become:

  • Part 1: Attacker model
  • Part 2: Security profile
  • Part 3: Message signing
  • Part 4: Dynamic client registration
  • etc.

Also, would CIBA be positioned as one of the part?

I am pretty strongly opposed to this. It implies some overall organization and completeness to the set of documents that isn’t actually a thing.

we discussed and agreed not to do this as:

    • we may have drafts that are never completed
    • or a mixture of complete docs and incomplete docs

there was an issue with this for FAPI 1.

FYI, OpenID Connect is being asked to label Part 1, 2, etc., as part of the PAS submission this week, so I am afraid that we have to come back to this issue even if we do not do it now. It now looks like essential. We will find out about it after the Connect negotiation with the ISO Central Secretariat.

Also, I would like to point out that the list does not have to be complete when it is first published. It can be added at a later date. e.g. we can just start with

    • Part 1: Attacker modle
    • Part 2: Security profile

only and later add Part 3, etc.
