pixelmed download instructions need improving
In the quick install section, I have said "for example, wget xyz URL". Which is already out of date, and there is no obvious instruction on how to get the current version.
Unfortunately David doesn't appear to offer a 'latest' or 'current' alias.
In the full instructions, it just points to the web page without any indication on how to find the file we want.
Both need to be better for release.

reporter Looks like a good idea.
The webstart version is slightly larger and uploaded a few minutes later than the pixelmed folder version - are you able to try it to make sure it is the same thing? And not some sort of web enabled version that might not work!

I'll test the webstart pixelmed.jar file at some point next week. I've just tested this version of the .jar file with DoseUtility and it worked fine (http://www.dclunie.com/pixelmed/software/winexe/DoseUtilityWithOwnJRE.zip).

I've tested the pixelmed.jar file from http://www.dclunie.com/pixelmed/software/webstart/pixelmed.jar with the one I've been using in my live OpenREM installation. I've created an RDSR from a physics CT study using the ct_toshiba.py extractor with both versions of the pixelmed.jar file. The only differences between the created RDSR files are expected differences in some UID values, instance creation time, contribution creation time, and software version (of pixelmed). The dose-related information is all identical.
My live-system pixelmed.jar file is dated 19th April 2018, 11:14; the comparison version is dated 17th August 2018, 20:32

reporter So we should go ahead and use the webstart URL in the docs?

Yes, I think that's the right thing to do.

The pixelmed.jar file in the webstart folder is pretty up-to-date - perhaps we could link to that?
