The commands for showing the arms in RVIZ:
rosrun rviz rviz /tf:=/ariac/arm1/tf /tf_static:=/ariac/arm1/tf_static robot_description:=/ariac/arm1/robot_description
don't display anything until the Robot Model and TF panels are added.
As a side note to keep in mind should others report a problem like this. I couldn't run Gazebo and Rviz simultaneously, as for this command. A web search suggested switching to the NVIDIA drivers for my GPU from the standard Noveau. I did so with trepidation having experience problems with that previously but it worked. I could then run this example without problems.
