gpu_ray not supported with NVIDIA 1050 installed

Issue #68 closed

I added a GeForce GTX 1050 to my system. The main board has an Intel Haswell iGPU. I added the GeForce because gpu_ray was not supported with just the iGPU. Even with the GTX 1050 install gpu_ray is not supported.

The driver is installed and the OpenGL support is from the GTX 1050.

Any suggestions on how to get gpu_ray supported?

    Let me revise my question.

If you've installed drivers for the card and they work, ROS and Gazebo 7, and all the software in the directions, is there anything else needed for gpu_ray to work?

Make sure you're using the proprietary nVidia binary drivers instead of the Nouveau ones. I'm using version 367.57 on a GTX1060 and have not had any issues.

I'm running the nVidia 370.20 driver which is the one for this card. So apparently nothing else is needed except a driver that Gazebo recognizes as suitable?

You don't get the gpu_ray warning message?

I get the following warnings, but the lidar scans that I get are fine. I don't have any other warnings referencing gpu_ray.

Apologies for those console warnings from msgs.cc; they come from gzclient trying to parse info about each model for display purposes, but it doesn't know how to parse info about those sensors yet. It doesn't affect the functioning of the sensors, just introspection from gzclient.
