need updates: new formats without scaling the original photo. no added white and transform the format square. download photos to 1080x1080. thanks

Thanks for contacting me regarding these issues.

As of now, the added white is actually added by Instagram, and the original photo for the "widescreen" format has not been made available by Instagram through their approved interface for 3rd party apps. Although it is technically possible to find the original photo, doing so would be in violation with the terms and conditions of using the Instagram API (Application Programming Interface). For this reason, I have not done so. However, I am working on a solution that will take the picture (in the provided 640x640 resolution) and allow the user to crop the picture back into the "widescreen" format. This way, you would be able to have the picture in the original format (although the resolution of the picture will be reduced), without Picstagrab breaking the terms and conditions that Instagram has set for using their API.

Once Instagram updates their API to include the non-modified picture, this will of course be provided by Picstagrab as well.

Just checked now, and it looks like Instagram is now supporting non-square images through their API, so there will be no need for cropping the images. I will get right updating in order to support the non-square format properly.

I have now enabled the non-square images, however there is still one issue regarding adding watermarks to the non-square images. When adding a watermark to a non-square image, the resulting watermark will be "streched". An update for this to ensure a consistent aspect of the watermark will come in the next release of Picstagrab.
