Adblock: unwanted domains blocked
Issue #274
closed
I use the extended block-list provided here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/alternates/fakenews-gambling-porn/hosts
Loading this list, freshtomato puts en.wikipedia.org and github.com among the list of blocked domains. This is undesired. While it is true that these domains appear in the listing, they appear after a comment indicated by a hash (#) sign.
It looks like freshtomato does not stop parsing a line as soon as a hash is reached.
A bit more detailed information:
for me the lines # 177504
0.0.0.0 <URL> # en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shock_sites
and # 1818
0.0.0.0 <URL> # https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts/issues/1635
of the block file produce this unwanted issue.

Yes this is well known and already fixed:

Either upgrade the script manually manually as per OP of the thread above or wait for the next FT official release (2023.2)
