nano does not work; "Error opening terminal: xterm-256color."

This is the output I get when trying to run nano from ssh:
root@R7000:/tmp/home/root# nano blah
Error opening terminal: xterm-256color.
root@R7000:/tmp/home/root#
This has been ongoing since I messaged you on 12/02/2019.

reporter An issue from 8 and a half years ago mysteriously appeared? I wasn’t having this issue until more recent nano updates. I presume the changes were to reduce firmware image sizes, I haven’t back-tracked. Thanks for the info.

It has nothing to do with nano, see: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6804208/nano-error-error-opening-terminal-xterm-256color and change your terminal settings.
