Please, consider using Anime News Network as the source for ratings. ANN voting database is the de facto standard on Anime Ratings. Very accurate thanks to a huge community of long term anime lovers.

It's also very simple to implement. ANN does all the work for you thanks to its API. You can use the excellent ANN API to parse the rating of each title. This is an example of an API response:

The rating is in the node called "ratings". The bayesian score should be used. Note that the bayesian score is available only above a certain numer of votes. If the bayesian score is null or missing, you should use the weighted score instead.
