config/install.py

Issue #164 new
neok
created an issue

when using make install DESTDIR=<...> object files (*.o) are not copied:

    if not os.path.splitext(src)[1] == '.o':
      <...>

however, the install.py script tries to copy timestamp information to a non existent file, resulting in errors

i believe that in config/install.py

    # preserve the original timestamps - so that the .a vs .so time order is preserved
    shutil.copystat(src,dst)

should be replaced with

    if os.path.exists(dst):
      # preserve the original timestamps - so that the .a vs .so time order is preserved
      shutil.copystat(src,dst)

    Could you please post exactly what OS you did this on and how the errors appeared so we can reproduce it?

    We don't see any errors in the process

    Cut and paste error messages and how you ran the make.
