"Broadcast to LAN" may be non-functional.

Issue #15 wontfix
Former user created an issue

For the past couple of versions, the Broadcast to LAN functionality has not been working. At least, this is the case with my instance.

I have set this issue for a version 1.4 fix. Though, fix when possible and time permits.

Using the main address within the network and external port forwarding works without issue.

This is an interesting issue. I think i will need to investigate this with your assitance, as i have not been able to replicate this on the newest version (v1.3.1)

    1. Is it still an issue?
    2. I suppose that you have tried restarting the Raspberry Pi ?
    3. For how long has it been an issue?
    4. Have you by any chance tried a fresh install of the image ?

I'm running Crafbian on two RPis, a 2 and a 3. The 2 is being ued for the video series and the 3 is my live instance. I have them both open for checking on this and the Broadcast To LAN for each are both not showing as available on my Multiplayer server listing. To my recollection, it's always been like this. I know for certain that the RPi2 has been like this since I did the build in the first prep video a few weeks back. nothings changed with temp file clearing and restarts which includes cold reboots. The RPi2 has had a few rebuilds with fresh image builds. I did an image rebuild on the RPi3 a couple or three months ago and the issue existed before that (if I recall properly).

It's still an existing issue, though I use the manual IP workaround to get around it.

Hmm. And it has been working on your network right? And no network equipment has changed ?

This might be too much, but i was thinking about if you could make a copy of the whole sd card as an image. I could provide an FTP server with access for you to upload it. That way i can get an exact copy of your setup, and troubleshoot on it that way

I think I could do that. I haven't written an mage, before, so I'll research that, this week, and get back to you on it.

I created an image of the main partition and it is currently uploading into Drive. I'll send a link via Facebook.

This has turned out to be a local issue with the firewall on the client. After making a allow rule for port 4445 the broadcasts suddenly showed up.
