Clicking on the notification will now select the message in Thunderbird and make Thunderbird the front-most window. If you have the 3pane mail viewer, you can read it right away, and if not, you'll still have to open it.

Stopped displaying RSS feeds in Thunderbid. This is a temporary fix until I come up with some way to queue messages such that we don't kill a users computer sending out tons of notifications.

Major refactoring of code (combined grINotifications and nsIAlertsService for reuse of code and a nice codesize win). Updated API calls accordingly.

Fix for AirPort notifications on Leopard

Automated versioning of the plists. Due to the way version checking is done, GrowlApplicationController.m still has to be manually updated, and growlnotify must be manually updated for its version string to be printed properly.

Only root can write to /var/log, and we weren't actually creating the file that we try to write to anyway (`NSFileHandle` does not create the file for you). With these two facts combined, we were not writing out the failed registration tickets that we claimed to be writing out. I fixed this with two changes: 1. We now write failed reg dicts to ~/Library/Logs/Failed Growl registrations rather than /var/log. 2. We now create the file, in case it doesn't already exist.

Improved reporting by GHA in both trunk and 1.1 when an auto-reg dictionary doesn't contain a format version number. This is different from the version being 0, as was previously reported.

Crash fix: Use `alloc` and `init` rather than the class method to create the cached version-info dictionary, so that we get a retention of it. Otherwise, the dictionary is autoreleased, so it later becomes a zombie, which eats our brains whenever we load a reg dict with no version. Discovered in testing of #697, but not otherwise related to it.

Deleted macros to convert a `struct Version` to and from `unsigned long long`. The idea was to convert it to and from a packed 64-bit representation, but this implementation was dangerous from the start, and that danger was realized in the switch to Intel—this method does not work anymore, because the size of the structure has changed. Nothing uses this, so I'm going to just write it off.

Deleted code to stuff a packed 64-bit representation of the Version structure into the version dictionary, because nothing uses it and it's borken on Intel (the structure being a different size here).

This is what I get for committing without building. Thanks again to stephen joseph butler for the patch to fix my changes.

Changed HardwareGrowler to collect volume info on !WillUnmount, then notify on !DidUnmount (and throw out the info if !DidUnmount doesn't come in ten minutes). This is stephen joseph butler's newest patch, with changes: * Rearranged init methods and moved them above dealloc. * Changed init methods to use `if ((self = [super init]))` style for consistency with the rest of the Growl source. * Moved `-volumeDidUnmount:` after `-volumeWillUnmount:`. * Moved redundant cache access in `-volumeWillUnmount:` and `-volumeDidUnmount:` to a single statement, t…

Partially semi-reverted r3553, which broke GAB's attempts to get some kind of app name. r3553 makes GAB only try alternate sources of an app name if there's a delegate that implements the method and it returns nil. This doesn't make a lot of sense; the main reason to try alternate sources is when the delegate *doesn't* exist or implement the method; if it does exist and implement the method, it almost certainly will not return nil. Now, as before r3553, GAB will try the other source…

Bug fix: Restored escaping-for-HTML of title and description that was removed in r4014. This bug affected all WebKit displays. This change fixes broken WebKit display in Leopard and probably the Safari 3 beta, and is a security fix.

Made sudo commands not fatal on failure. This is good for testing, especially here in the branch. If you want to skip a sudo, just press return for the password. You'll have to do this a total of six times.
