poshpy - Python Management for Powershell

Introduction

Poshpy is a Powershell module designed to ease management of multiple Python installations on a single PC. It is integrated with virtualenv, so that it can create, activate and manage virtualenvs as easily as full Python installations.

Installation

To install poshpy, place the PoshPy directory somewhere on your module path and run "import-module PoshPy".

In addition to the module file itself, the PoshPy directory should contain some local copies of various Python distributions. This is for testing on a PC without internet access, mainly, and should be made optional for the final release. The files needed are:

PoshPy
  -- virtualenv.py
  -- Packages
       -- distribute-0.6.24.tar.gz
       -- pip-1.0.2.tar.gz
       -- setuptools-0.6c11-py2.6.egg
       -- setuptools-0.6c11-py2.7.egg
