Icon for the homepage.
Can the icon for the website hosted on Bitbucket be changed? Tried a few ways but it still shows the blue bucket.

Sir, icon is visible locally. But on bitbucket, it's not showing

I also have added icon and it's visible on bitbucket. I think may be problem is due to code line or browser specfic or may be due to path.

Okey, notes to TA please make sure that you test the favicon part separately. I will update the assignment sheet.

Avoid absolute paths, use relative paths instead

Looks like @vikasjiitk is able to get it working.

Sir, my icon is working both on local as well as bitbucket's server but it works on firefox not on chrome

Check on the net if there are other reported instance of favico not working on chrome but working on firefox. I had a similar problem with fonts on my website which had the reverse problem (worked on chrome but not on firefox) . It turned out that certain headers had to be sent by the webserver which it was not doing. It was then fixed.
You can check this out on our issue tracker https://issues.cse.iitk.ac.in/ticket/96

By the way if your icon is not in .ico format you can use the command
convert
. It can convert between lots of image formats -
Please do not close this ticket till the grading of Assignment 3 is not done.

I faced the same issue. After some research, I came to the conclusion that this is caused due to the obsolete favicon cache of the web browsers. You can try clearing your browser cache, or using a separate browser.

I guess it should be possible. Try to host it locally and see if it works.
