Delay Saving My Character's Position

This happened twice. First on Dantooine. I ran from the mining Outpost to the Jedi Temple to the north. First I went south and killed four NPCs. The the second two were... I call them cave men. Then I headed north. I ran into no more NPC and I could not find the Jedi Temple. I headed to the pirate outpost. It was not there either. I logged out and in, and I spawned next to the cave men I previously killed. I went to the Mining Outpost and continued my travels.

Later on Dantooine, I bought a ticket to leave. The shuttle was there but the droid would not respond. I log out and then back (not a full exit). I spawned inside where I bought the ticket. The droid still did not respond. I exited the game, logged back in and I was in the right place, but sever meters up on the landing platform next to the shuttle.

I think the droid might already be known.
