Scart wide screen switching pin control?

Issue #106 new
professor_jonny created an issue

Is it possible to drive the scart wide screen switching pin (WSS) on the AVIP from within XBlastOS scripts?

Would this survive loading of a retail bios after booting XblastOS if so?

The pin is driven by an output on the SMC.

I was wondering if it could be used to switch audio sources on a HDMI converter or other video/ audio features.

Hum, quite frankly, I don't think setting this would stick after loading a stock/hacked BIOS.

I didn't even know this pin existed. Which one is it on the AVIP port? Do you have documentation on this? Being from North America, I'm not familiar with SCART at all.

From what I believe there are two pins that are controllable via the SMC pin the 5v and 12v lines on the AVIP port.

xbox info pulled from here: http://xboxdevwiki.net/Video_Encoder

The video encoder is capable of PALplus style Line 23 Wide Screen Signalling (WSS),
and the Xbox PIC is rigged with the capability of controlling Scart pin 8 (the function switching pin,
which is used as an alternative method of Wide Screen Signalling) and pin 16 (the fast switching pin).
