Can't flash with Xblast OS - V0.56

Issue #122 resolved

I'm having an issue with Xblast OS (xbe) V0.56 not seeing anything in C:\BIOS. I get the following when selecting HDD Flash:

'C:\BIOS\'
C:\BIOS does not exist

The folder is there. It's name correctly. And the bios is there too and it's 256kb for sure. I double checked using main dash’s File Explorer.

It's also giving me an error when using Net Flash. I'm able to open the flash page using the provided IP (DCHP), name the bios, upload the file (a 256kb 5004.67 in this case) but, it gives the following error upon submit:

The connection was reset - The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

Tried on two separate boxes. A 1.2 and now a 1.4.

The 1.2 I went on to TSOP with HeXen so I know the soldering itself was fine. I think the latest one is good too; I go to Settings > Info Menu > Flash Device and it gives me the Windbond's specs.

Running Rocky5 Softmod v.1.1.6. Everything works fine otherwise.

I uploaded Xblast OS.xbe to a couple of places and tried putting Xblast folder on root of C:\ (although I read it's not necessary for the xbe to function; I’m under the impression that’s for the Xblast bios itself.)

Any thoughts on why this might be happening?

    Per Rocky5:

Load NKPatcher Settings then FTP the bios folder to C run xblastos and flash away.

ShadowC partition is why its not working for you. Xblastos bypasses it. So it can read the file on the shadowc partition.

Easy enough fix but, might be nice to have Xblast OS check the ShadowC too, since many people are using Rocky5 Soft Mod these days. Maybe I’ll look into implementing it myself and submitting a PR. Not sure, though.
