Fallback IP address not settable?

I have an xbox that seems to fail to detect an IP address. The lights are flashing away, so seems like the NIC is working.

However, the fallback IP address seems to be 0.0.0.0

Could there be a menu option, or this value to be hardcoded to something useful?
