We have Watcher Custom Field for JIRA installed as well as JIRA automation plugin. Currently, we are using JIRA Software 7.0.10
If an employee leaves the company, his account gets deactivated. In some tickets he/she is still set as watcher.
We close most issues by using the JIRA automation plugin's 'transition issue action'. This is done by a separate active user that has the required permissions to do that. If one or more inactive users are set as watcher, the action will end in an error saying:
Users do not have permission to browse issue: <username> So every time that error occurs I have to manually remove the affected watches.
I am not sure if this is a bug or not. On the one hand inactive users don't have access anymore. On the other hand inactive users who are watchers should not block an issue transition.
Please check if inactive users set as watchers can be ignored during issue transitions. This would faciliate maintenance of JIRA automation configurations a lot
Kind regards, Patrice
