"timed out" message on big playlists

I'm getting a "timed out" message when loading long playlists (273 titles) when it takes longer than 30 seconds.

Raspberry Pi 1st gen 256MB RAM 100mbit cable connection

    Do you use paging? It is a special feature on that prevents from loading large data sets on less powerful devices like old RPi.

    I also have this problem on my raspberry 512MB ram. Would this stop being a problem if I would stop using this "paging" ? if so how can I shut it off ?
