Issue #112 invalid

Beamer manual handout advice doesn't work in beamerbasercs 2010/06/12 (rcs-revision c3821710bb40)

created an issue

I'm using version 'beamerbasercs 2010/06/12 (rcs-revision c3821710bb40)' and dvips(k) 5.99 from TeXLive 2010 on Linux. The advice in the Beamer manual for creating handouts in section 21.1 of the Beamer manual:

\pgfpagesuselayout{2 on 1}[a4paper,border shrink=5mm] }}} Instead of 2 on 1 you can use 4 on 1 (but then you have to add landscape to the list of options) and you can use, say, letterpaper instead of a4paper.

no longer works properly - though I'm actually using:

\pgfpagesuselayout{resize to}[a4paper,border shrink 5mm,landscape] }}}

(and class option '[dvips]') to get A4 landscape handout prints.

Instead, I see the non-enlarged Beamer size page in the centre of the A4 sheet, but acting as a viewing (cropping) window onto the A4 slide. I'm calling dvips:

dvips -t unknown slides > slides.ps

Now, this may be a dvips problem and not a Beamer problem - but I can't immediately see how to separate the possibilities.

I'm using the example: {{{

% process dvi file by 'dvips file' plus 'ps2pdf file.ps'

% to obtain ps output of A4 size: % \usepackage{pgfpages} \pgfpagesuselayout{resize to}[a4paper,border shrink=5mm,landscape]

\usetheme{default} \usepackage{rotating,graphics} \usepackage{stmaryrd}

    I've finally (!) needed to do some handouts myself, so have taken a look at this. There's no problem with the pdfLaTeX route, so I think this is a bug in pgf, not in beamer (which does nothing here other than recommend pgf for layout). As such, it's INVALID, sorry.
