Issue #200 resolved

Width of footnote in a sidebar theme

Jesper Kjær Nielsen
created an issue

I have created and published a couple of custom themes based on the outer sidebar theme. A couple of days ago, someone told me that the text in the footnote overlapped the sidebar. I could not replicate the problem on my main system.

Today, I have therefore been compiling the simple code below on the following three different systems.

Ubuntu 10.04, TeXLive 2009-7, Beamer 3.07-1 (my main system)

Ubuntu 12.04, TeXLive 2009-10, Beamer 3.10-1

Arch Linux, TeXLive 2011-3, Beamer 3.11

{{{ !latex \documentclass[10pt]{beamer} \usetheme[right,width=2.5cm]{Berkeley} \usepackage{lipsum} \title{Title} \subtitle{subtitle} \author{name} \institute{Institute} \date{\today}

\begin{document} \section{First section} \subsection{Second section} \begin{frame}{First section}{Second Section} \lipsum[1]\footnote{This is a very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very long footnote text which demonstrates that the footnote text is overlapping the sidebar.} \end{frame}

\end{document} }}}

As you can see in the attachments below, the problem does not exists on system 1, but on the newer systems 2 and 3.
