Issue #98 on hold

Problem with \.z (utf8 ż letter) in \author{}

Anonymous created an issue

I am using beamer 3.07 on sabayon linux. With document beginning like this: {{{ \documentclass[10pt]{beamer} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{textcomp} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{polski} \usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[utf8]{inputenc} \usepackage[polish]{babel} }}} I can not make: \author{inżynier} texmaker says: {{{ ! Undefined control sequence. <argument> .z l.10 \author{inżynier} The control sequence at the end of the top line of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have misspelled it (e.g., \hobx'), typeI' and the correct spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue, and I'll forget about whatever was undefined. }}}

Any suggestions?

    First, I'm not quite sure that this is a Beamer bug. Have you tested if it works in article mode?

    Second, I can't reproduce; it actually works here. Are you using TeX Live 2010? It could be that some of other packages you mention got fixed.
