Ki strike +# does not help to make contact with non-material enemies.

I believe it is supposed to allow you to hit said monsters with a normal ghost touch 50% chance of missing penalty, but it doesn't actually give you that. Thus in practice anything non-material is immune to being punched and kicked as a monk no matter his class level or how enchanted his gloves/boots are.
