What about Dist::Zilla?

It looks like Dist::Zilla could take care of a lot of chores but it does those chores just by ticking the required boxes and in no way compares to custom hand-crafted user centered design. Trying to convert our custom hand-crafted chores to a Dist::Zilla plugin would take more time than it would ever save.

We also don’t like the huge dependencies such a build proces would introduce. Maybe fixing the build proces doesn’t count as a chore, but if it takes more time than the chores it’s supposed to automate it’s pretty useless.
