Would it be possible to add a few more possibilities to the text objects?

Such as:
The ability to use the index returned by the add and addf function to replace a text
so: (text):set(index, textstring)

The ability to set a drawRange like it is possible with the mesh object, so one can specify that only index (textstring) 2-4 should be drawn

A variant of (text):set or (text):clear with an index as argument so one can delete only one string of a text object

    To elaborate, as marking as duplicate somehow doesn't seem to allow me to add a comment:

    The way the text is stored it would require rerendering the entire object. So setting 1, 5, and 7 would do 3 full re-renders, yet the api makes it sound cheap (and like it's the right way to do this). Additionally, it doesn't store enough information to rerender it, at the moment, so it would also need to store more data.
