Like the title says. It's implemented, but not exposed.

Why not? It's in the source code, it's in the documentation, just one lousy line prevents us from using it, which meant I had to resort to manually keeping track of things.
Ehm.. obviously this is rude's fault, I thought maybe he had some reason to keep it this way (you know GC stuff), but since he's apparently convinced it does exist...
Well I was right after all, this causes GC issues.
So my fix was (slightly) more elaborate than your 1-line non-fix, but yeah, here it is.
