Issue #820 resolved

Documentation license unclear GFDL or FreeBSD?

It's unclear under which license the love wiki content is available FreeBSD Documentation license or the GFDL.

  1. Footer says "Content is available under GNU Free Documentation License 1.3." ( to edit: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgRightsText )

  2. http://www.love2d.org/wiki/License says FreeBSD Doc license (established by rude 2010 http://www.love2d.org/w/index.php?title=License&oldid=1663 )

  3. Edit pages say GFDL.

http://www.love2d.org 's "Documentation: The wiki will help you get started[...]" is the only hint as to that the wiki might be the "documentation".

I suggest that one should assume that http://www.love2d.org/wiki/License refers to a theoretical non-wiki documentation that never came to be and that the page should be updated to say that the wiki license is GFDL.

Well.. this kind of got lost. Anyway, I've changed the wiki page to reflect that this applies to the earlier, imported documentation. As the wiki software itself displays the FDL on every edit action and on every page, I can only assume editors were agreeing to that license.

I have also reverted the (third-party) edit to the date, so the end date is 2010 again, which is also when the wiki was first made set up.
