Cannot Access Touch Pad Options Menu

For unknown reasons, the menu slider does not appear properly for some users, rendering them unable to access the touch pad's options menu. This appears to be some sort of device-specific or environment-specific issue, as it does not happen on the current test devices.

Possibly related to issue 45.

Rather than a keyboard-specific issue as was originally reported, this actually seems to block access to the entire options menu. An effected user submitted this screenshot of the problem:

Another user has reported an issue where the options menu button disappears after using the keyboard…I am wondering if this is a related problem.
