Cannot access team member via a group
I have a group (TeamJOHNS) and have added a member to the group. When I click that member and follow the link, I get a forbidden access error message. I have attached screenshots to show member in team (Ethan) and after click his link I get he error message page. Hope this helps reproduce.

Steve

repo owner Could you please describe what you expected to see? That would be very helpful.

reporter Thanks for quick response. So just to make sure I have the current behaviour understood, as a coach I can add a person to the team, that person can accept to join the team (which is what I have currently I think???).. but the new team member must still change some privilege to allow to be coached even though they have joined a team created by a coach?
Have I understood this correct? I’ll go back and play with it a bit and see if this make sense from a use case perspective for me.
-
reporter I also do not see the team management section in my profile. I guess this may be related to the fact this is a trial self coach account at this time? Is this another issue (if so I can create a separate ticket). Is this executed behaviour for a trial self coach account?

repo owner Stephen, here are some links to a description of how coaching and training groups are set up
https://analytics.rowsandall.com/2019/09/22/some-changes-in-coaching-functionality/
Please tell me what you would like to do. You might be on the wrong plan, and that is probably entirely due to my explanations on the site not being clear, so no worries, I’ll try to help you out.

reporter Have I missed some settings Sander? I have looked through the profile of the member joining the team setup via the coach (me), and I cannot see where I allow a coach to coach the new member. Have I missed something more fundamental?
Thanks
Steve

repo owner All Team management should be accessible under https://rowsandall.com/rowers/me/teams/

repo owner We are distinguishing between Coaching (being able to run analyses on behalf of another member, and having access to their personal settings) and Managing a Training Group. You are currently managing a training group. People can join your team and you can invite them. I think you have already found that functionality. If you upgrade to a Coach plan, you could Coach them. The question is if you are interested in that. I would love to hear your specific use case.

reporter Ok thanks, I’ll go read up this might help with my understanding. Sorry if I missed those…. RTFM
If there is any point of view on error|other messages I can add which will help the site experience I will do my best…

reporter Yes I may have the choice of account and use case mismatched.
As a coach I would like to be able to see my own results and analyse them
As a coach I would like to be able to see athletes results and analyse them.
Maybe this is the issue, as trial accounts I am expecting that behaviour but the self coach trial and pro trial do not allow for this. Which is ok, if thats the defined behaviour for them.

repo owner Hi Stephen, we do not offer a Coach subscription trial. Only Self-Coach. However, we do offer a full refund within the first 30 days if you’re not happy with the functionality.

reporter Ok I have enough info to go on to decide how to proceed. Thanks for your help Sander, much appreciated. I think you have some real potential here on your analytics. Coming from a cycling background where I followed power training from its earliest days, I think you have some great ideas here. The correlation matrix is also very interesting here for the people who want to really go fine grain to get that extra percentage out.
-
repo owner Stephen, how should we proceed with this issue?
-
reporter I think it can be closed Sander. As I understand it now, you need to be a Coach to run analysis for athletes. You can manage a group as a self coach without having the ability to run analysis for the group members. I think that makes sense now. Has others had issues with this structure?

Stephen, your comments are correct. Feel free to contact me with suggestions for improvement or a different pricing structure, though.

This is actually desired behavior. Well, it is and it isn’t. The link leads to the personal preferences settings for that user. That is only open for Coach members and only after the user has allowed the coach to coach them. I could remove the link if the user doesn’t have the permission. Would that make sense?
