Can't stream a movie or a tv show

Issue #27 resolved
Bastien Bourlé created an issue

Hi everyone! Here's my issue: when i want to play a movie or a tv show, after clicking on the links i'm interested in, nothing happen in the pop up window showing the buffering progression. Install of having numbers appearing for download and upload speed and numbers of seeders and leechers, i only have zero and nothing else. So there's no downloading, nothing. If someone could help me, thanks.

Some providers only return a infohash, so Burst sends a minimal magnet link with just the infohash to Quasar. That typically works fine for popular torrents, since Quasar adds a few default trackers in those cases, but if none of the trackers have that infohash tracked with active peers, then the torrent fails and there's nothing we can do about it. All I can recommend is that you try to choose a different stream from a different provider when that happens.

Thanks for the answer. The thing is that i try to play popular torrents. For exemple the twelfth season of supernatural. It worked fine with the first episode (idope provide) and i try to play the second episode with the some provide(some tracker), i've tried with popular, recent movie too and always with the links that provide the most seeders. I've also tried links that where working before. So it might be something i am missing but i thank there's might be something broke. Anyway thanks for the answer again

I'll look into it but it really seems to be as I said, in which case it'll randomly fail if the same infohash is on one tracker but not another, and adding that same infohash a minute later that tracker times out or anything. Same thing for different infohashes from the same provider (don't confuse providers and trackers here, they're never the same thing, even if some providers do have their own trackers also).

OK thanks. I'll try with different movies and TV shows (épisodes). And for each one i'll try different streams to see what happens.

So i have done a lot of testing. 6 tv show and same for movies in most popular section. For each tv show i've tried to play newest episodes in newest season. And for each episode, 3 streams. I've done the same for movies, 3 different streams. 90% of the time, at last, it doesn't work and i have something like this in the buffering window pop up _20170218_132658.JPG

When it works it take longer than before to buffer and load the stream and half the time it freezes, especially when i want to cancel the stream and it's Kodi that freezes too. So i think there's might be something wrong here. It could be my installation i don't know

@kelso76 Noticed you were using the socks5 proxy, which currently isn't working in Quasar because of a libtorrent bug, see this issue

@Terck Logs show you chose a torrent from YTS which is blocked by a login prompt, nothing we can do about that. Other torrents should work just fine directly from Burst.

Sorry guys but there's no actual issue with Burst here.

No reason to be sorry, you fixed it for me. It's working again. Thanks for your time.
