Relion-3 auto-refine slower than in Relion-2

Hi,

We have started using Relion-3 in the middle of a project, and we have realized that running exactly the same auto-refine procedure takes longer in Relion-3 than in Relion-2. The iterations start to go slower (20 min vs 10) when it decreases the angular step from 7.5 to 3.75. Does this happen because there has been a change in the algorithm? I compiled both Relion-2 and 3 with exactly the same settings in the same machine (2x GTX1080Ti, CUDA8.0, mpich3.1.4).
