Possible bug leading to observers getting dropped from sightings

One user has a sighting file that is missing observers altogether from some entries. There may be a bug that leads to this accidentally occurring.
(It might also be worthwhile warning users that they’ve got some sightings with no observers, in cases of user error, but the symptoms sound more like a Scythebill bug than user error.)
