Inaccurate location queries, perhaps after moving location?

Some sequence of editing operations produced a location where species queries omitted one of the child locations.

Everything worked after saving, quitting, and restarting: which makes me think that this must have been caused by somehow creating a location where getParent() was still null (which'd be fixed after saving and reloading).
