Never default to cancel

Issue #89 resolved
Adam Winer created an issue

Original issue 89 created by adam_winer on 2013-04-10T10:23:26.000Z:

When entering a large number of sightings, I accidentally lost all the entries because the cancel button was highlighted by default. The situation was:

1) entering sightings 2) using the mouse to specify a subspecies within the list of birds being added 3) pressing return

Obviously this was user error on my part. When entering a lot of sightings, a cadence is reached that includes hitting the enter key - band code, enter twice. For some reason when I specified the subspecies, I pressed enter. Since the cancel button was highlighted, all the records I had recorded had to be re-entered. I request the program provide less opportunity for "oh crap" moments. Generally, the keyboard interactions with Scythebill is really good. There are only a few places where the mouse is either required, or the best approach (too many tabs to get to the button/field).

Thanks for the report! Two notes: - Yes, you're totally right, moving focus to Cancel after picking a subspecies is bad. - Even if you go out of your way to tab to Cancel and select it, when there's content, Scythebill should be asking for confirmation (since it's a destructive action).

Thanks for the positive notes on keyboard interactions - that's gotten some recent attention and is quite a bit better than it once was.
