Issue #102 resolved

Gravatar plugin does not work with user's email

Anonymous created an issue

It seems the Gravatar plugin uses the email address from the changeset. That is, your hg user needs to be "John Smith john.smith@abc.com" for it to connect correctly to Gravatar.

When the hg user is just "John", not picture is downloaded, even though the correct email exists in SCM-Manager's user profile (as defined by LDAP).

It would be nice to allow:

    • local icons for scm-manager users (like username.png somewhere on the disk)
    • multiple global and repository-specific mappings for the same scm-manager user, since the same user could appear under different forms even in the same repo (email address could change in time)

I've created a first test version of the new plugin. Could you please test this version?

    Test scm-authormapping-plugin:

    • Login in as administrator
    • Open Config->General
    • Change "Plugin Repository" parameter snapshot from false to true
    • Open Plugins
    • Install version 1.0-SNAPSHOT of scm-authormapping-plugin
    • Restart your applicationserver

Are you trying to map the author with the scm-manager user database or with the "Author Mapping" table? In the current version the plugin does only map an author by it's name and not by his mail address. Are you trying to map the user with his mail address?

    Its working now.

The Continuous Build user (not an LDAP user) had my email address.

I assume two users with the same email address cause confusion.

    Anyway - great plugin.
