LDAP connection not working

Hello, I the ldap plugin installed, and have it configured as follows: {{{ Profile: Active Directory Base DN: dc=example,dc=com Connection DN: cn=admin,ou=servers,dc=example,dc=com Connection Password: ** HostURL: ldap://ldap.example.com:4321 }}} (note, I have changed the name to 'example' above, and the port of our ldap server isn't really 4321, but it isn't the default one)

When I do a test connection, I get the following {{{ Connection: SUCCESS Search user: FAILURE Authenticate user: FAILURE Exception: [LDAP: error code 32 - 0000208D: NameErr: DSID-0310020A, problem 2001 (NO_OBJECT), data 0, best match of: 'DC=example,DC=com' ] }}} I know for a fact that the credentials I am testing exist, and I have basically put our Base DN at the top of the tree, so it should definitely be found. Any thoughts as to what is wrong?

On another note, I tried to figure out how to turn on debug logging, but I can't figure out where the logging.xml goes when doing a webapp deployment to tomcat. Any ideas?

    Oops, I figured it out, our AD doesn't use uid at all, so I had to do a custom setup and set the Search Filter to (&(objectClass=person)(sAMAccountName={0})). I also had to clear out the People Unit and Group Unit fields because our AD is not even close to that organized. I am still leaving this open, as it would be nice if the Search Filter defaulted to use the ID Attribute Name (sAMAccountName for AD), and the People Unit and Group Unit fields should default to empty (as they are not always correct, and only help to limit/speed up searches).
