DEB package service broken

Issue #960 resolved

When installing SCM-Server through the debian/ubuntu repository as listed on the wiki the software installs itself in an inoperable state.

Even after changing the /opt/scm-server directory ownership to scm:scm as found elsewhere on the wiki, when starting the service and requesting its status:

  • scm-manager.service Loaded: not-found (Reason: no such file or directory) Active: inactive (dead)

And the web interface is not reachable.

Please assist and let me know if I can provide further information.

Thanks in advance.

Are you able to start scm-manager without systemd?

    su - scm
    /opt/scm-server start

If this not work please try to start scm-server in console mode:

    su - scm
