Admin difficult to reach with HTTP basic auth

I just deployed Sellvana on our test server with HTTP basic auth. After installing, I opened an incognito window and went to http://sellvana.testurl.com/admin/

It kept me in a redirect loop for 2-3 tries (with correct authentication), and then Chrome gave me a "This webpage is not available".

After removing the trailing slash from the URL (so http://sellvana.testurl.com/admin), it did work. Going to the frontend (http://sellvana.testurl.com) and then to the admin with trailing slash also worked.

Sorry, Apache 2.2.22 with Linux (Debian Squeeze), PHP 5.4.4.
