join operation non-functional on annotation panel

The annotation panel has 4 tabs: edit/split/join/comment. Currently clicking on the join tab is ignored. Martin believes this was functional in some version of the eXist Solutions site.

    Join does work. You have to select multiple words with the mouse in the text pane and the annotation panel will automatically switch into join mode. You cannot get to join mode by clicking on the join tab.
