I type in console: ssh hg@bitbucket.org to connect to the SSH server and after accepting the key, I get the "Access denied (publickey)" error.

I'm sending a screenshot of this situation

I am afraid that we do not allow you to ssh into our servers.

You can you hg via ssh and this will use the public key you have provided to bitbucket.org to auth but we do not allow you to open a ssh terminal to our servers.

Are you having problems with pushing mecurial changesets to the site via ssh?

    Thanks, Dylan

I think we are having some communication problems here, sorry for that.

So I would like to have all the details of the problem you are seeing. Here is what I think you are doing:

    You are running:

    hg clone ssh:hg@bitbucket.org/ellislab/codeigniter

When you run this command you are getting the error:

    authentication denied

    Can you please confirm:

    • what operation system you are using?
    • what version of mecurial you have installed?
    • do you have your public key installed for your Bitbucket user account?
    • are you running your mecurial commands from the commandline or from a mecurial client?

Also, if you run the above mecurial command and you are getting an error can you please try to add the '-v' flag to force verbose output? Can you attach the output of that command to this ticket please?

    Thanks,

    Dylan
